Has craft beer really has ‘had its day’?
We don’t think so…
Yes, the big gun multinationals are buying up several of the original craft breweries which has, understandably, muddied the water of what consumers define a ‘craft’ beer to be.
However, from a design perspective (which is mostly what we care about!) the sector is on fire!
Beer is being consumed by a younger, emerging audience, and so many brewers have that fresh, modern, entrepreneurial spirit.
Which leads to more expressive, experimental aesthetics on their packaging.
Led by initiatives like Sweden’s Omnipollo, which is a joint and equal partnership between brewer and graphic artist. Their range of designs are all beautiful and completely unique.
And breweries like our own Bristol-based Left Handed Giant. They are proudly community driven, with 80% shareholders in the local BS postcode area. Their whimsical and beautiful designs are all created by an in-house illustrator.
Craft Beer is being designed for drinkers as interested in art as in the amber nectar itself
