We are thrilled that Yuki, the founder of Noto Gin, approached us to help him design a new, limited-edition Noto Gin brand design. Especially as this one has a heartfelt story behind it.
Yuki’s first Gin is unique in its use of botanicals from his home in the Noto region of Japan.
However, on 1st Jan 2024 a devastating earthquake hit the region.
Inspired to raise awareness of the earthquake and help raise funds to restore and rebuild the region, he created Wishing Star.
With a rice base (which is common in Japanese Gins) this spirit uses a unique mix of botanicals local to the Oku-Noto region. Including blueberry branches and laurel branches from Noto Town as well as yuzu peel and dried wakame seaweed from Suzu City. Both areas affected by the earthquake.
It’s a delicate tasting gin with a perfume-like aroma and long-lasting sweet aftertaste.



The name ‘Wishing Star’ comes from the abundance of stars that are visible in the Noto region. With only a small population, it has very clean air and little artificial light – so the stars really do shine brightly.
Our design was also inspired by this. Retaining a clear family feel with the original Noto Gin, the pair have a perfect ‘day and night’ feel.
